Finally, we had an event at DSV again! It was a great success! Thank you Robin Andreasson, Lukas Gronquist and Klara Axelson from KPMG for their insights into the world of an Information security consultant. We are looking forward to more events with KPMG.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the event. We are already planning our next events!
We are looking forward to organize security talks, company visits and social events for you in the upcoming year to get further insights into the world of cyber security beyond our studies and connect with other students and professionals.
Make sure to follow us on all of our social media to get updates on upcoming events!
Students were invited for a challenge in incident response lead by the amazing security enthusiast Enkeleda Ibrahimi. The students got to develop their incident response mindset during an interactive simulated hacking experience where students represented various functions in a company who had to collaborate to solve the crisis at hand.
Fruitful discussions ensued with valuable perspectives and insights offered by Enkeleda.
Wednesday the 6th of November we welcomed Irvin Homem from IBM for a short presentation of what it’s like to work with digital forensics and incident response in an IBM security operations center. After the presentation he presented a security challenge for the students to solve in pairs, where their problem solving skills were put to the test.
The evening was wrapped up with a fun Kahoot quiz.
Klas Albons, CISO at Cybercom, joined us for our second Security Dialogue of the semester on the 25th of September. Klas discussed the struggles of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and how to overcome these issues. Post the presentation a fruitful discussion with the students ensued.
Our guests Robin Andreasson and Stina Sörman, both DSV alumni and senior cyber security consultants at KPMG, held an inspirational talk and answered the questions of the students for the first Security Dialogue of the semester at September 11th. They gave the students insights into the challenges and tasks that a cyber security consultant might face during their career.
The year 2016/2017 has been an exciting time for the ISACA Student Group. New members joined the group and different activities were carried out. A total of 18 security dialogues took place with speakers from many different organisations: Spotify, the National Defence Radio Establishment (sv. FRA), the Swedish National Forensic Centre, Klarna, KnowIt, Deloitte, DLA Piper…
The ISACA Student Group also participated to study visits and case nights at different companies (KPMG, PwC, Accenture) as well as visited fairs connected to the industry such as the IP EXPO Nordic.
All of these activities allowed the members to grow their network and get an insight of the Information Security Industry.
In the future, this blog will be updated more often to allow any students interested in Information Student to be informed about our activities.
We hope the coming year will be as rewarding as the previous one !
